I wrote the title track in 1975 when I was at the high school. I always loved this song. In the years, I found out that its lyrics are what has happened in my life. This fact gave me the idea to give a reserved seat to songs I wrote in the 70ies and 80ies and that were not yet recorded. This new album would like to be a retrospective with some new tune. I would like to dedicate some words to Listen, that, with great proudness, I wrote together with the Great Chris J. Simpson, leader of the historical band Magna Carta. Listen is the fruit of a long friendship with Chris and it is for me a dream come true. I could not have imagined while in the high school years (while listening to english folk music and almost exclusively to the Magna Carta album In Concert) that someday I would meet Chris, become his friend, be guest in one of his concerts and then write a song together. When we recorded Listen in the Jop Studio, I had some space-time identification: it was him, sitting in my chair in my studio, beside my Magna Carta vinyls and cds, which I jealously keep with care together with many memorabilia. A miracle of passion and dedication.

Ho scritto la title track del cd nel 1975 quando ero in terza liceo e sono sempre rimasto affezionato a questo brano. Rivisitandolo, ho scoperto che la mia vita, poi, non è andata molto diversamente rispetto a quanto all'epoca potessi immaginare. Questo mi ha dato lo spunto per rendere dignità a brani che ho scritto negli anni, ma che ancora non avevano avuto il loro spazio in vetrina, ritagliato per coloro che vogliano ascoltarli, a futura memoria. Ecco perchè questo disco vuole essere una retrospettiva con una spruzzata di novità, data da 4 nuovi brani. Non posso non dedicare due parole a Listen che, con immenso orgoglio, ho scritto insieme al Grande Chris J. Simpson, leader del gruppo storico inglese Magna Carta. Listen è il frutto di una lunga amicizia che mi lega a Chris e per me è un sogno nel cassetto realizzato. Non avrei mai immaginato in terza liceo (epoca nella quale ascoltavo folk inglese e quasi esclusivamente l'album In Concert dei Magna Carta) che un giorno avrei potuto incontrarlo, diventare suo amico, essere ospite in un suo concerto e poi scriverci un brano insieme. Quando l'abbiamo registrato nel Jop Studio, confesso che avevo qualche problema di identificazione spazio temporale: era lui, proprio lui, seduto sulla mia sedia nel mio studio, accanto ai vinili e cd del suo gruppo, che conservo gelosamente, insieme a tante memorabilia che negli anni ho raccolto. Miracoli della passione e perseveranza.
